Acne is a skin condition that affects mostly teens; it produces noticeable pimples on the face head and neck, and sometimes the back. Secondary are the social and emotional issues as appearance is very important during this time of life.
The cause of juvenile acne is hormonal changes from puberty, mostly in teen girls and boys. This hormonal activity causes the sweat glands to produce oil which gets inflamed or may get infected by bacterial invasions, creating breakouts called acne. There may be clear-to-white or yellow pus. Also allergy issues may cause teen acne; look for sensitivity to dust or sanitary issues on the skin.
Medical treatments for acne include antibiotics which always have side effects and cause other problems. Anti-bacterial creams are also for symptomatic relief and do not address the cause.
Natural methods include balancing the teen’s hormones and reducing foods that cause internal heat condition which is a sign of inflammation. It is best to eliminate fried foods and dairy products. Next is to clear the heat and inflammation by using herbs and cell salts. You may also use other remedies for allergies. See Allergies Natural Remedies.
Nutrition for acne includes the dietary supplements of Chromium chromate and Zinc. They have been shown to be helpful in eliminating acne. It takes 6 to 8 weeks with the use of the following selection of remedies to see best results.
