Self Healing and The Feng Fu Point

We all want to live longer, look younger, have more energy and lead a fuller life, right?  How can this be done?

Of course, eating right, being active, keeping your mind sharp and not doing high-risk activities is one formula.

Yet it turns out that an ice cube and a few moments of your time helps too.

At the base of your skull on the neck there is a point known as Feng Fu.

Feng-Fu-Point-and-self-healing

It’s a pressure point just below the bottom ridge of the skull cap at the top of the neck.

If you put ice on it regularly, it triggers rejuvenation in your body.

Illness seems to disappear!

You find yourself more energetic, and just plain happier.

Lie on your stomach and put an ice cube at the Feng Fu point.

Leave it there for 20 minutes.

Or use a bandage to fix the ice cube in place if you’re on the go.

Do this once in the morning on an empty stomach, and then once again before bed.

What’s the effect?  It:

improves sleep quality
improves mood
helps regulate the gut
relieves colds
relieves toothaches and headaches
may help relieve lung and cardiovascular diseases
may help thyroid issues
may relieve PMS and
may improve mental health

Live longer, look younger and have more energy thru self-healing by activating your Feng Fu point!

Natural Hypo-Thyroid Support Remedies

Hypothyroid is slow developing and shows subtle outward signs. The slow destruction of the thyroid is hard to see of detect because the function is kept to normal levels as the thyroid enlarges. Finally, there is not enough tissue to produce the proper amounts of thyroxin and there comes the more obvious signs.

Regeneration of some tissue is possible but may need time, patience, and temporary thyroid medication (Preferably Armor natural thyroid by prescription). Prevention is the best solution. Use iodine-rich foods from the sea or ocean and avoid fluoridated water, supplement soy products, and cruciferous vegetables such as kale, cabbage, etc.

Symptoms include: forgetfulness, weight gain, PMS, menstrual changes, paleness without anemia, dry skin and hair, low blood pressure, slowed deep-tendon reflexes, cold intolerance, constipation, fatigue, apathy, swelling of tissues, low voice, hoarseness, goiter, brittle nails, stiff achy cramping muscles, weakness, hair loss, mental dullness, slow growth and development, swollen tongue, nervousness that goes into dullness, and the face looking fat with squinty eyes in menopausal women. In youth, growth in children slow and bones are affected. One may also see water retention, slow pulse, and obesity.

The under or over-function of the thyroid can cause a goiter. Most often we see goiters as a lack of iodine, and a hyperthyroid condition. Hypothyroid goiters are hard. The anterior pituitary can play a part in hypothyroidism.

Causes may include:

  • Iodine deficiency
  • Children – never developed enough tissue or an inherited defect, OR too much iodine during pregnancy – babies slow down
  • Children and adults – Hashimoto’s or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (most common cause of thyroid failure)
  • Inflammation and scarring damage
  • Medical treatment hyperthyroid condition
  • Temporary failure from viral infection
  • Lithium can cause hypothyroidism
  • X-ray therapy in neck area
  • Dye medical treatments

Three Suggestions for Hypothyroid by Dr. Robin Murphy N.D.

Low thyroid but no medications – use a general thyroid remedy. One of these may be their general remedy. (Calc Carb, Sepia, Nat Mur, Lycopodium – see more remedies under Homeopathic Choices.) In this group you ignore the thyroid and give one of the above indicated remedies. It stimulates circulation, speeds up metabolism, and helps to normalize the thyroid.

Low thyroid, using Synthroid in 2 grains or less a day – generally used for many years – Use GENERAL REMEDY (see Homeopathic Choices) first, then build up 1-2 months (in 50-60% of people the thyroid kicks in), improvement in 1-2 months, then can be weaned off prescription slowly.

Coming off “COLD TURKEY” from thyroid medications, people CRASH in 2 weeks or less.  Sepia, Calc Carb, Nat Mur, Lycopodium, use in low potency 6c. If “crashed” then use acute remedy Thyroid 6X -stop general remedy or give together. Use thyroid remedies first thing in the morning. If thyroid kicks in, the person starts getting warm-blooded and restless – GOOD SIGN!

Thyroid is atrophied; Synthroid medications are not working any more.  Use Thyroid 6X, or use Bladderwrack or Kelp. Then go to general thyroid remedies in 6c (Calc Carb, Nat Mur, Lycopodium, Sepia – see Homeopathic Choices below).

In Radio-active Iodine damage, there may be a small part of the thyroid still functioning. The real cure is in the person’s general (constitutional) remedy.

* It is wise to get thyroid function tests every couple of months until the thyroid stabilizes at a normal level for several months. If unsure of your general remedy, consult a professional homeopath.

Naturally, you can eat lots of seaweeds to provide organic iodine to waken the thyroid into producing its own hormones. Take them in capsules or powders. Add to this molasses, parsley, apricots, dates, prunes, fish, and chicken.

Avoid

  • Fluoridated water, as it blocks iodine
  • Fluoridated toothpastes
  • Soy, cabbage, kale, rutabaga, turnips-inhibit iodine absorption in the intestine

Natural Hyper-Thyroid Remedies (Basedow’s Disease)

Basedow’s Disease (sometimes called Grave’s disease) comes from an overactive thyroid producing too much hormone. It can be recognized by shiny eyes, later enlarged eyes, swelling of the thyroid, pulsation, falling hair, heart palpitations, tendency to diarrhea, shaking hands, damp skin, irritable voice, and unwanted weight loss from a raised metabolism. The cause is unknown, but thought to be an auto-immune problem.

Conventional treatment of hyper thyroid involves medications, thyroid removal, or radiation treatment. Most options tend to be disagreeable and permanent. I have seen many people feel much worse after treatment.

Natural management of hyperthyroidism by supplements is often successful. Eat a light – mostly meat free – vitamin-rich diet; get physically active, emotionally calm, and avoid iodine products such as Kelp, Bladderwrack and Dulse. Eating soy products keeps iodine from being absorbed. Homeopathic medicines and cell salts help the body to normalize thyroid function.

Vertigo and Meniere’s Disease Natural Remedies

Vertigo is sensation of objects moving and spinning around. It’s an inner ear disturbance involving the eyes or visual stimuli. Your inner ear’s function is for balance and perception for positioning.

earCauses are most commonly inflammation of inner ear parts, acoustic neuroma (nerve blockage), cerebral artery disease, spinal degeneration, high blood pressure, anemia, thyroid problems, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, hyperventilation syndrome, anxiety disorders, stroke, Parkinson’s, or Meniere’s syndrome.

Most common acute cause is inner ear inflammation (Labyrinthitis) and responds quickly to homeopathy. Acute vertigo is associated with upper respiratory infections and tinnitus (ear noises). Be aware that dizziness can also be a warning sign of heart attack, stroke, concussion, or brain damage.

vertigo-spinningAccording to Dr. Robin Murphy, N.D., my mentor, if the episodes are short, the prognosis is good. If the episodes are long lasting it is usually neurological. In older women, it may be a sign of mini-strokes or TIA, or could be a sign of Meniere’s disease where there is an infection of the Eustachian canals. The chronic condition of Meniere’s syndrome has severe nausea, hearing loss, and tinnitus (ear noises), and may lead to total one-sided hearing loss. It may also be a sign of a tumor.

Modern medicine treats vertigo with anything from low-sodium diets and diuretics to nausea medicines, antidepressants, or surgery.

From the natural point of view, vertigo should be looked at as either a nerve problem, ear or Eustachian tube blockage, or kidney weakness.

Natural solutions include feeding the nerves, reducing Eustachian tube mucus, and strengthening the kidneys. One of the best things you can do is go off dairy products as well as tobacco, alcohol, coffee, black tea, and soda pop. This will help keep the ears clear and functioning better.
