Low Blood Pressure Natural Remedies

Low blood pressure causes a complex set of symptoms when pressure stays below 100/65. It is more common in young women and tall thin people, accounting for 5% of the population; y in people with varicose veins are more likely to have low blood pressure. Symptoms include:

  • Waking up feeling tired
  • Depression
  • Nervousness, irritability
  • Concentration weak
  • Sensitivity to weather change
  • Headache or pressure
  • Vertigo
  • Black floaters in the eyes
  • Pale face
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Heart pains, palpitations
  • Tinnitus – ringing in ears
  • Deafness
  • Faintness upon standing (adrenal involvement)

Causes of low blood pressure for our sake of discussion are circulatory weakness, diet and lifestyle, or nervous system problems. These are the major causes. If not, less common causes of low blood pressure may be insomnia, diabetes, digestive, hormonal disturbances, thyroid, and adrenal problems, blood poisoning or allergic reactions.

The medical community is not certain that this is a condition or disease. Drugs such as high blood pressure meds, circulation meds (including blood thinners), and anti-depressants may contribute to low blood pressure. They may utilize stimulating drugs to raise blood pressure (always with side effects and are short-term fixes). Make sure you are tested for more serious problems.

The natural perspective here will discuss the 3 common causes:

First is poor diet and fast foods, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, black tea, caffeine can contribute in a susceptible person. Why not change your lifestyle now? Second, nervous conditions often are the cause of low blood pressure. This is due to long-term stress or extreme stress condition, and not enough B Vitamins (B-Complex). Third, a more serious condition may be heart and circulatory weakness, usually caused from an illness or chronic weakness.

Be sure of your cause and the following natural solutions may be helpful. Also, moderate physical exercise is helpful as well as alternating hot and cold showers. Be patient as it may take a couple of weeks to notice change and several months or longer to turn around a chronic low blood pressure condition.

Adult-Onset Diabetes (Type II) Natural Remedies

Adult-onset diabetes is a dysfunction of sugar metabolism, contributing to weight gain, high blood pressure, and cholesterol and triglyceride deregulation. The body can no longer utilize sugar (glucose) to feed the cells and the pancreas cannot secrete enough insulin.

From the natural perspective, excessive refined carbohydrates in the diet contribute to insulin resistance, ultimately resulting in endocrine problems affecting the whole body.

As a diabetic, in addition to your medical care, there are natural steps you can take to support your body.  First, consider your overall health. Maintaining a healthy weight and diet are very important.

Choose a low-carbohydrate diet to reduce the need for insulin, giving the body a chance to regenerate with the help of natural supplements.

Cleanse with a gentle herbal cleanse for a week or two. No need for diarrhea or radical flushing. This type of cleansing rids your system of mucus and other toxins that burden the body so your organs function better. I recommend Nature’s Way Mineral Sweep

Exercise. Keeping your body in shape and maintaining it takes time and effort.  Work with your health provider to set up a schedule of regular exercise. Start slowly and work up to a moderate level of exercise 5 days a week. If overweight, you need to develop a plan to lose those extra pounds. Remember, this is a lifestyle change. Losing weight takes the burden off the body’s organs.

Eat fiber-rich foods such as apples and vegetables, especially raw vegetables. These carbohydrates are absorbed slower into the blood stream than processed foods, like white flours, white sugars, sweeteners, and fruit juices. Fiber-rich foods relieve pressure on the pancreas and rest overworked organs.

Eat frequently. Small meals 6 times a day keep blood sugar from spiking. Large meals tend to spike blood sugar. Include brown rice in your daily diet. It is rich in fiber (slowing the absorption of sugars into the blood) and B vitamins that reduce everyday stress.

Use of Artificial Sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners are chemicals that need to be detoxified by the liver. Natural sweeteners such as stevia support the pancreas health. NOW Brand Stevia has some great flavors that help to satisfy sweet cravings

Ask your doctor about these natural supplements to support your body’s ability to better handle blood sugar: GTF Chromium (Brown rice is a good food source for chromium.), Alpha Lipoic Acid which has been shown to reduce blood sugars ans has anti-oxidant effect, and Vanadium, a trace mineral that lowers blood sugar.

A traditional ayurvedic formula is one capsule each of Neem and Turmeric threee times a day to normalize blood sugars.

Gymnema is known as the “sugar destroyer” herb.
