Max Heindel, born Carl Louis von Grasshoff, known as the greatest western mystic of the twentieth century, was born early Sunday morning July 23, 1865, in Aarhus, Denmark of the family of Von Grasshoffs – was a Christian occultist, astrologer, and mystic. Author of The Rosicrucian Mysteries, he died on January 6, 1919 at Oceanside, California, United States.
