How Do Crystals Work?

Crystals form over many years, deep within the earth, within the forces of solid matter. They form in places rich in minerals — usually molten rock — when hot gases encounter cool surroundings and deposit crystals. Perfect formation occurs when the temperature and the concentration of the solution are in harmony. A type of alchemy takes place in their formation, and it is this specific geometry that draws people to them most.

The Energy of Matter

Throughout history and into the present day, people have recognized both the aesthetic beauty of crystals and their energetic properties. Although science does not speak of crystals as healing agents, the world's spiritual traditions consistently describe a healing property within these stones that can be utilized simply by being in their presence.

This can be difficult to grasp for the skeptical — understandably so. But consider: we accept that plants and water carry energizing and healing effects because we consume them. What about the energy of matter we don't consume? When a person stands before wondrous art, a scenic view of nature, or in the presence of someone negative — why are we so affected, if we do not consume these things?

Because everything is made of energy. This field cannot always be seen, but it can be sensed and felt. Our entire bodily system is made of energy — a point science does not contradict.

Crystals radiate pure patterns because they are sourced directly from nature — mother nature's production of art, and a representation of energy harnessed correctly to create perfect harmony in the material world.

"Each stone resonates with a slightly different pattern geometrically. These same geometric patterns reside in our systems and organs." — Benjamin Dean

The structural pattern active in a rose quartz — traditionally used to open the heart chakra — can balance the corresponding energy structure in our heart. Nature's biological codes are so magnificently intricate that everything has a purpose; to believe nature creates material that is merely "pretty to look at" no longer makes sense.

The Seven Gates and Their Stones

Solar Plexus Chakra — Tiger's Eye

Gemstone of abundance and wealth, prosperous business and creativity. Increases self-esteem; protects and cleanses the aura.

Heart Chakra — Rose Quartz

Heart healer, harmonizer, comforter. A diffuser of negativity; encourages compassion and empathy; balances masculine and feminine energy.

Throat Chakra — Sodalite

Gemstone of peace and relaxation, higher communication, and expression of highest spiritual truth; dissolves repression.

Third-Eye Chakra — Amethyst

Opens the third eye; enhances enlightenment, dream-work, psychic ability, personal power, and honesty. An energy protector.

Crown Chakra — Clear Quartz

High spiritual-vibration stone for higher states of consciousness; enhancer of intuition, psychic gifts, sobriety, and memory.

Raw Over Polished

Raw crystals, as opposed to polished ones, give off more energy — they remain in their purest form even when small. It is important to first understand the healing benefit each crystal carries for your physical, mental, and spiritual energies; only once you have experienced this inherent knowledge can you begin to see results.
