Hernias are a weakness of the connective tissue in the lower abdominal region. Problems in hernias can range from a slight abnormal belly protrusion to a strangulation of the intestines. One may notice a bulge or protrusion around the navel area as the most common sign of hernia. Male children can have a hernia in the scrotum. Middle-aged obese people can have lower abdominal or groin hernias.
Common causes include poor connective tissue health from wrong dietary habits; obesity; and lack of exercise (muscle tone).
The common fix is surgery, but is not always a permanent solution. This can also have side effects and doesn’t solve the underlying connective tissue weakness problem.
Natural healing comes when we help the body to correct the connective tissue problem internally and externally. According to homeopathic literature, the body has the ability to repair hernias if they haven’t gone too far. It usually takes 1 to 6 months. Be careful that they don’t strangulate (cut off the intestinal flow).
Nutrition for Hernia and connective tissue health includes:
MSM – suggested use of 4,000 to 6,000 milligrams a day for joint and tissue health.
Glucosamine HCL – connective tissue health.
Magnesium Malate – for muscular health. Use as much as can be tolerated without diarrhea.
