Herbs for Anxiety about Dental Appointments
Herbs are plants valued for their specific strengthening/ tonifying properties.
The following herbs are directed toward stress of dental exams.
Dave’s Mood Formula – combination of melissa, hops, mistletoe, bitter orange, peppermint, and valerian – take several days before going to the dentist, to calm and nourish the nerves
Melissa (Lemon balm) – calming to the heart and nerves
Lavender – improves digestion, lessens stress
St. John’s wort – calming to the nerves, also assisting mild depression
Cell Salts to Help Anxiety for Seeing a Dentist
To make a cell salt solution, put up to 10 tablets of each cell salt in a 16- to 24-ounce bottle; fill with water and swirl to dissolve tablets. Sip throughout the day.
Biochemic phosphates – contains all five phosphates, calc phos, ferr phos, kali phos, mag phos, and nat phos to feed nerves; also good for mild depression.
Dental Anxiety Homeopathic Remedies
Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic natural medicines safe for everyone including infants and pregnant or nursing women. You may use 6X, 30X, 6C or 30C potencies.
Aconitum – severe anxiety and restlessness before a dental procedure. Children cry and hold onto their mother tightly. Helps adults that can’t stand the sight of blood.
Argentum nit – general fear of nightmares, fears of tests and dentists.
Chamomilla – inconsolable, restless children that want to be held. Anger, screaming.
Gelsemium – inner trembling, nervousness. Feels exhausted.
Ignatia – changeable moods; from courageous to full of fear. Always hopes that things will get better. Fears moving, sighs a lot.
