Fainting Natural Remedies

Fainting happens when a person experiences temporary loss of consciousness. They may turn pale, sweat, feel light-headed, fall, have leg weakness, or experience dizziness. Fainting can happen when blood rushes to the head from various causes. Sometimes with fainting there is a rapid heartbeat.

Causes of fainting include strong odors, emotional excitement or upset, mineral imbalances, hypoglycemia, anemia, dehydration, cardiovascular or neurological problems. Medications such as anti-depressants, tranquilizers, or high blood pressure medicines may also cause someone to feel faint. Modern medicine mostly uses electrolytes and changes in diet to help with fainting. No major drugs are used.

Naturally, look for the cause of fainting and treat the cause. If medications are not causing fainting, look to the nervous system or blood sugar problems (hypoglycemia). Natural supplements can help with fainting: Chromium and frequent protein shakes help keep blood sugar levels normal for those with hypoglycemia.

Baby Colic Natural Remedies

Colic for young babies includes painful indigestion. Symptoms of colic include gas, bloating and pain during and after feeding; spitting up may also be a sign of colic. Causes come from feeding baby the wrong type of formula or reaction to something in the formula; also reaction to mother’s milk when the mother is eating the wrong foods or is stressed. Colic also may happen when the child is stressed or is eating solid foods too early.

Modern medicine uses acid-reducing medicines for colic which may make the body feel better but may be toxic or disrupt the digestion further.

Naturally, the best thing to do is find the cause-usually dietary for mom or child. There are several great colic solutions that help the baby’s digestive system to work normally. Ideally the child should be breast fed until the child’s eye teeth come in, signifying the digestive enzymes are starting to flow and the baby can be put slowly on solids.

Leaky Gut Natural Remedies

Leaky gut is a syndrome where digestive matter moves through the intestinal wall into the abdominal cavity. This provokes an auto-immune response; it may be totally separate, or connected with food allergies (related to Celiac’s disease) such as allergies to grains, gluten, or dairy products.

Causes of leaky gut can be food intolerances and made worse, or be caused by antibiotics, regular use of NSAIDS (non-prescription pain relievers), and steroid use. It can cause or increase other auto immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Leaky gut is not recognized by modern medicine and most likely caused or aggravated by anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), steroids and antibiotics. They don’t seem to see a connection with leaky gut syndrome and arthritic, digestive, and auto-immune disorders.

Natural perspective on leaky gut is to eliminate food allergens and to attempt to eliminate all pain relievers (aspirin may be the worst), antibiotics, and steroids. Then you must use several of the following natural therapies for leaky gut to repair the gut. You can always use other natural treatments for auto immune diseases and symptoms. Pain or weakness may be in the tendons, ligaments, or joints of the ankle. Common causes include general overall weakness, obesity, over use, injury or repeated injuries.

If severe enough surgery may be required for ankle weakness. X-rays or MRIs may verify the problem. Pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications may slow or stop the healing process and may have side effects and toxicity.

Baby Congestion Natural Remedies

Nasal congestion in babies interferes with sleeping and feeding, when nasal pathways are blocked. Congestion comes when a nursing mother may have a diet too rich in dairy products or there is too much stress from lack of sleep which affects the quality of mother’s milk. The baby may have allergies to the formula.

For baby congestion, most healthcare professionals recommend sucking out the mucus from the nose or using a decongestant if the child is old enough. From the natural perspective, we should look first at the mother’s diet, and help the mother and child to normalize mucus secretions to reduce congestion. Clearing the nose is helpful.

A humidifier with a few drops eucalyptus oil in the water may be helpful at night. It is good symptomatic relief.

  • Obsession about food
  • Wears baggy clothes
  • Menstrual disorders or loss
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings hair loss
  • Feels cold
  • Avoids social situations

Causes of anorexia are not always know but could stem from poor self esteem, unrealistic body expectation from self or family. They may feel depressed, worthless, suicidal, or have guilt with religious delusions. Anorexia may be a poor defensive mechanism to control their own life. There might be a poor mother-daughter relationship. Anorexia can also be used as a coping mechanism for deeper psychological problems.

From the medical view of anorexia, a person may need hospital stays when symptoms become life threatening. The person then needs an evaluation. Psychotherapy is almost always required. Anti-depressant medication (which may cause other problems) could be recommended. Typically, 30% of all anorexia patients do not recover.

From the natural perspective anorexia is a serious psychological problem which brings potent physical problems that can become life threatening. A person with anorexia NEEDS a COUNSELOR along with nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic medicines. The results can be quite good with using several natural supplements together. Initial help for anorexia may need to correct constipation, menstrual or digestive disorders. Diet must be addressed.

As for lifestyle, get counseling to help you to recover a healthy diet and a reason to enjoy life.

Diet is extremely important as many anorexics consume less than 500 calories a day. Someone who is active needs around 100 grams of protein per day. Even if the calories are low the protein needs to stay high to avoid muscle loss. The rule is to have protein at each meal.

Do the obvious of avoiding alcohol, tobacco, coffee, sodas, black tea and refined sugar.

Natural supplements for anorexia include using a good liquid multi-vitamin every day. Use digestive enzymes at meals as well as a good probiotic. Take 50 mg of Zinc as a most important supplement. You can have protein shakes at various times of the day.
